Pittsburgh, PA -The City of Champions!

21 07 2009

Last weekend, Malachi and I made the five hour drive to Pittsburgh to meet up with my parents, my Aunt and Uncle, and cousins.  We arrived Friday night and spent several hours visiting with my Mom and Dad over Osso’s Pizza, a Washington, PA specialty. The next morning, we all woke up and went to a yummy breakfast at Bob Evans before heading into Pittsburgh to meet up with the rest of the family.  We can’t thank them enough for taking us around to all the sights! We took a riverboat tour of Pittsburgh on the Good Ship Lollipop, went to the top of the city via the Duquesne Incline, walked around the Strip District and Station Square, had wings and beer at Jerome Bettis’ Bar, and went to Primanti Brothers for their famous sandwiches with coleslaw and fries. We truly feel as though we got a great sense of what the city of Pittsburgh is all about, but feel as though we have to tailgate for a game to get the full experience!  We are looking forward to planning a return trip for some tailgating! Also, thanks Dad for buying me the jersey of my favorite player, Troy Polamalu, and a Terrible Towel. I am so excited to wear my jersey! We celebrated Helen’s birthday when we got back on Sunday with pizza and an ice cream cake. We are so happy Helen was born 76 years ago. She is wonderful! Happy Birthday, Helen!!

Hi kids.
Wow, this tells it all. What a great time we had !!
I really hope that you two can go to PA. for a tailgate party. You will just be amazed at all the fun you will have.
When you get back, we will try to work it out.
So glad you love your Troy shirt, and Terrible Towel. All Steeler fans must wear Black, and Gold. If I thought Malachi would wear a Steeler shirt we would get him one.
I can’t tell you how much fun we had to. I did things over there that I have never done. The best thing was sharing that time with both of you !!
We were so glad that you would come that far to see us. We love you both.
Mom, and Dad
